As in all business, professional relationships with executives and key decision makers serve as the foundation for capitalizing on opportunities that grow revenues and expand market presence. Scot Giambruno has over 15 years of executive-level experience in health insurance management, auditing, consulting, contracting and business development. He has extensive personal contacts among healthcare executives and a track record of helping organizations improve profitability, reduce costs and grow revenue.

Scot has worked with large and small PBMs, Insurance Companies and TPAs throughout his career. With an insider’s perspective, he understands operations, provider relations protocol, underwriting strategies and business development methods. He is an expert in leveraging his knowledge and relationships to achieve demonstrable results.

Scot has a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of San Francisco and an MBA in Finance from Santa Clara University.

Deborah J. Giambruno, ESQ.

General Counsel

Executive Biography

Laying a strong legal foundation for a business and having access to practical guidance from the inside can provide significant benefits to the long-term health and success of a business.  Deborah Giambruno is an Attorney with demonstrated success as General/In-House Counsel in leading emerging, rapid-growth companies through all phases of the business lifecycle and all types of legal issues.  She is focused on providing businesses not prepared to hire a full-time General Counsel with regular access on a smaller but regular basis to in-house guidance, which lays a solid foundation for success, allows the business to become proactive rather than reactive, and has the long-term result of significantly reducing outside legal expenses.  

Prior to starting her practice, Ms. Giambruno served as General Counsel for Vurv Technology, a leading global provider of workforce management software.  She was responsible for all legal aspects of the business in all of its domestic and international locations and worked closely with the CEO, COO and CFO to ensure the legal aspects of the business were aligned with the company’s business strategy.  Ms. Giambruno also served as In-House Counsel for Technology Funding, a Silicon Valley venture capital firm where she provided legal assistance to several of the firm’s portfolio companies in an effort to minimize their costs and enhance their ability to succeed.  She has large and small law firm experience, but finds working with businesses from an in-house perspective is more engaging and rewarding.

Ms. Giambruno has a Juris Doctor from University of the Pacific’s McGeorge School of Law and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from the University of San Francisco.  She is licensed to practice law in both California and Florida.

  • Decreased outside recurring legal costs from $1+M to $50K per year by revamping internal teams and outsourced relationships.
  • Oversaw and documented an aggregate of more than $250M in capital raises.
  • Counseled several start up entities and equipped them with appropriate legal tools to ramp up staff, engage vendors and document client relationships with a view to managing their risk while poising them for their defined exit strategy.

  • Provided guidance and support to HR teams on matters involving EEOC claims, non-compete issues, terminations, Employee Handbooks, Stock Option Plans and other similar matters.  

Kristi Wilder

Director of Operations

Executive Biography

Kristi is and industry veteran in the field of operations. Her previous experience as Director of Operations for one of the nations fastest growing web based marketing agencies in the hospitality industry has positioned her for her current role at PENSA Health with a focus on customer services.  Under her direction and successful management of the operations, her previous company grew an average of 80% year over year for more than 10 years.

Kristi enjoyed the on-going challenge of such a dynamic and fast growing organization.  Heavily recruited by numerous companies, Kristi selected PENSA Health Management as a new challenge.  “PENSA’s previous success and rapid expansion moving forward is the reason I chose PENSA for my next career move.  PENSA is uniquely positioned to provide a level of value and service to the marketplace not currently provided”.

Wilder is responsible for on-going management of client deliverables including updating web tools, client educational elements, implementations and supporting the enhancement of leading edge technical solutions which assist clients reduce costs as the result of using PENSA’s proprietary re-pricing tools and technology.

Richard Brookler


Executive Biography

Rich Brookler has been a PBM pricing and analytics insider for more than 14 years. Rich’s was Director of Pricing and Analytics at Medco/ESI where he oversaw the PBM pricing underwriting, claims re-pricing strategy and processes, plan-design consulting and client reporting – including ad-hoc and standardized. Rich also directed the Financial Analysis group which provided face-to-face PBM consulting to Medco’s clients. Rich is an expert analytics consultant with a diverse set of technical skills including SAS and SQL.

Rich’s understanding of the PBM business will help Pensa Health Management clients better manage their drug benefit as well as delivering significant savings.

Rich holds a BS in Computer-based Management Systems from Clarkson University and an MBA/Finance from New York University Stern School of Business.

  • Developed a reporting and analytics reporting infrastructure to compliment the Medco client service model. Information resources available to clients, consultants and account teams helped to achieve a 99% client retention rate.
  • Demonstrated mail, generic and formulary strategies that helped Medco clients decrease costs by as much as 25%.
  • Regarded as an industry expert in the combination of finance, financial contracting elements, claim data and claim analytics.
